The church that started more than sixty years ago in the beautiful mountains of Idaho is still thriving. Crouch Community Church has continued through the years as a vital ministry to the people of Crouch and Garden Valley. Several denominations are represented and people from many states and local cultures make up this church.
Although there is a great deal of diversity, there is also a common bond. We have in common a confidence that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, that Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior from sin, and that through faith in Him we have eternal life which is imparted to us by the Holy Spirit.
Our mission is to spread the good news that through Jesus, a person’s sins can be forgiven. His life can be lived in fellowship with the Creator and with the certain expectation of eventually being with the Lord in heaven. We are also responsible to teach people to obey the teachings of the Bible so that they can lead an abundant life — one that is pleasing to God.
Crouch Community Church is a well-established, non-denominational church in the fast-growing mountain community of Garden Valley, Idaho. The picturesque valley is home to 2,500-3,000 residents but it grows each summer when many property owners come to live in their summer homes.
Garden Valley is just an hour north of Boise but offers many of life’s necessities and pleasures to its residents. Just under 300 students attend the PK -12 school. A well-staffed medical clinic provides routine medical care. Emergency services are provided by a fire department and ambulance service, with a helipad on the church property. Law enforcement is provided by the Boise County Sheriff’s Department. The grocery store and public library are exemplary for an area this size. The hardware store is rarely out of anything required for projects or repairs. Several restaurants and coffee shops provide dining opportunities and there are a variety of shops and other services.
Terrace Lakes Resort and Starlight Mountain Theater are two gems in the community enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Terrace Lakes is a beautiful 18-hole golf course, with geothermal pool, pickleball courts, restaurant and more. Starlight Mountain Theater is a very popular charming outdoor summer theater. The mountains naturally offer hiking and camping opportunities, and two rivers offer tubing and whitewater rafting adventure.
Besides Crouch Community Church, Garden Valley has other options for worship: Calvary Chapel, Seventh Day Adventist, LDS, and Catholic. These congregations enjoy good working relationships and share in serving the community. Children from all of these fellowships attend the Vacation Bible School hosted by Crouch Community Church, and the churches work together in Crouch Community Church’s holiday food basket projects.
People choose Garden Valley for a variety of reasons but primarily for its absolute mountain beauty and lifestyle. Most people feel blessed by God to live in such a great place.
