First of all, don’t let others discourage you.

Peter gives three characteristics of the mocking scoffers:

  1. They follow their own evil desires.
  2.  They question the Lord’s promise.
  3.  They deny the necessity of the Lord’s coming.

Don’t accept a re-configuration of the facts.

The scoffers deliberately forget and suppress the truth of three things.

  1. They accept alternatives to belief in God’s creative acts.
  2.  They hold to other explanations for evidences of the flood.
  3.  They tend to reject the prophecies of judgment.

Don’t forget, God has a different perspective.

1. The Lord’s reference to time.

2. The Lord’s faithfulness to His promise.

3. The Lord’s patience is for our good.
