Statement of Faith
We believe in the following:
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are inspired by God, and are without error in the original manuscripts. We believe that the Bible is relevant for modern man.
2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe in one sovereign, eternal God existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30; Matthew 28:19
We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He was born of a virgin to become perfect man. We believe in His miracles, His suffering, death on the cross and physical resurrection. He ascended into heaven and is the mediator between the Father and mankind.
John 1:1-3; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:20; Philippians 2:6-8; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:25; I Timothy 2:5
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in giving spiritual life to everyone who places her/his faith in Christ. He also gives spiritual gifts to each believer so that the whole body of Christ might benefit.
Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
We believe that God created Adam in His image, and that all people bear the image of God. However, all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Jesus died on the cross to bear the penalty of our sin, and rose again, confirming the full payment in His blood.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 4:25; Romans 5:12
We believe that God has provided Salvation by His grace as a gift for all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-9.
We believe that the Church is made up of all who have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ since the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. We believe that the Church is under the headship of Christ and is to go into all the world as His ambassadors. Local churches are groups of believers gathered for worship, teaching, prayer, and for the observance of the New Testament ordinances, baptism and communion. Within this context, spiritual gifts are developed and exercised. The local assembly also allows for accountability and provides a haven for growth and spiritual refreshment.
Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:4-8; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Hebrews 10:24, 25; 1 Peter 4:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 5:14
We believe that Christ will return physically and visibly to personally rule and judge the earth.
John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20:11-15
Mission Statement
Crouch Community Church is the local gathered community of those who share the common faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. This church exists to carry out the two imperatives of the Great Commission: evangelism and edification. Matthew 28:19-20 records Jesus’ words, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
About Us
The church that started more than sixty years ago in the beautiful mountains of Idaho is still thriving. Crouch Community Church has continued through the years as a vital ministry to the people of Crouch and Garden Valley. Several denominations are represented and people from many states and local cultures make up this church.
Although there is a great deal of diversity, there is also a common bond. We have in common a confidence that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, that Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior from sin, and that through faith in Him we have eternal life which is imparted to us by the Holy Spirit.
Our mission is to spread the good news that through Jesus, a person’s sins can be forgiven. His life can be lived in fellowship with the Creator and with the certain expectation of eventually being with the Lord in heaven. We are also responsible to teach people to obey the teachings of the Bible so that they can lead an abundant life — one that is pleasing to God.
Pastor
Pastor Brian Smith was raised in the Pacific Northwest and attended many schools in Washington and Oregon. He graduated from Hood River High School and then enjoyed many job opportunities which included lumber mills, logging and ranch work. These skills proved to be valuable for the ministry in rural missions.
Brian is married; he and Kathy have 4 grown children. They enjoy being grandparents now to twelve grandchildren.
Brian graduated from what is now Millar Bible College in Saskatchewan, Canada. Brian and Kathy joined the Westland Bible Mission and moved to Salmon, Idaho where they planted a church and established Bible studies in outlying areas. They also served churches in the Spokane, Washington area, rural work in SW Montana, then pastored a small town church in North Dakota.
